Experience

I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher. After returning to school to finish my degree in Elementary Education, I completed my student teaching at Terreton Elementary in 2015.  This is my 3rd year teaching at Terreton Elementary and Junior High School.

Bio

About me: I was born and raised in Rigby, Idaho. My family farmed and ran a feedlot. As a kid, I enjoyed 4H and participated in the Mud Lake Fair showing steers. I am one of seven children in my family.  I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters. As a kid, I never imagined that I would someday be a teacher.  My sights were set on either being a cattle truck driver or a dance teacher! Looking back now, I am happy about the path my life has taken which has led me into teaching!

I am a long time resident of Southeast Idaho.  I love where we live. My husband and I have chosen this great area to raise our own family. Being the mother of two elementary/Jr. high age kids has taught me the values of patience and seeing the world through a child's eyes. When I am not focused on teaching, I enjoy camping with my family, riding horses, cooking, quilting and archery.

Background in Teaching: When my own children started school, I applied as a part-time substitute teacher. I began substituting in the elementary, middle, junior high and high school grade levels. This is where I discovered a love for teaching, which led me to pursue and complete my degree in Elementary Education. Teaching full time has been a very rewarding experience for me.

I love teaching at Terreton Elementary and Junior High School.  We have great students and they are very dear to me. The support I feel from parents and the community is wonderful! The small town atmosphere and tight knit community make our school a very special place to teach in.  Go Panthers!
